Plays and Platters – May 10th, 11th 2019
BARFORD DRAMA GROUP’S 2019 SEASON
which starts with a Plays and Platters evening on the 10th, 11th May.
Have you thought about joining your local Drama Group?
We would love to welcome you to the group, especially to the newly arrived people in the villages of Wasperton, Barford and Sherbourne, we are all fun loving amateurs. Why not come along to our next reading just to see how we do it and who knows you may want to be in it; we always have large and small parts for willing volunteers.
We are currently reviewing two plays and the readings will be on Tuesday, February 12th in Barford Memorial Hall at 8:00pm. A reading gives the group an opportunity to see how we/they respond to the play and to see who might be interested in taking a part.
Of course, there is no pressure to be on stage as there are may other roles that might interest you such as: Back Stage support including costumes, props, stage design, lighting and sound. Front of House, which includes catering, marketing and the all important bar…!!!
Just come along and listen to the play being read…!!!
Play 1 – ‘And the bride wore’ by Cheryl Bennett.
A one act comedy for ten women set in an exclusive bridal shop. A young bride-to-be has an appointment at the shop to look at wedding dresses. Whilst this should be a special moment in her life, arguments and family jealousies surface much to the dismay of the shop owner.
Play 2 – ‘A tangled web’ written by BDG member Jane Scott.
A one act play for four women and two men. When two couple from the same village each plan an illicit weekend away, they inadvertently both book the same guest house and chaos ensues.
